Maldives Quality Seafood Private limited is a state of the art facility leading in food and safety quality system for over 14 years since it’s established in 2008 on the Island of Himmafushi K Atoll, Maldives Quality Seafood (Pvt) Ltd first export was in June 2009. We have been big buyer in Yellow Fin Tuna from Maldivian Fisheries and exporting Fresh and Frozen products to Europe, Far East and USA. The factory was certified by MFDA, BRC, USFDA, Fair Trade, SA8000, MSC COC, Friends of Sea, etc.
Founder Mr. Ibrahim Naseem along with Mr. Roy Schofield who is with 30+ years of experience in the Tuna business established Maldives Quality Seafood as and EU factory with MFDA. The partnership lasted 15 years during which time MQS were considered a very large exporter from Maldives. To increase the business turnover
Maldivian Authorities granted MQS the license to export Carbon Monoxide treated Tuna in 2021 which a new factory was set up in the premises which acts totally separate to the EU factory.
In the year 2023 founder Ibrahim Naseem along with Mr. Moosa Kaleel of Sonee Group purchased all foreign shareholding of Maldives Quality Seafood (Pvt) Ltd making the business 100% Maldivian owned. This opens greater opportunity for MQS to raise capital expansion in purchasing of tuna and synergy with a conglomerate in Maldives. The new ownership has immediately got to work on modernizing the factory and opening up avenues for sourcing and sales.
